Day 1 - We've arrived!

Here is Mom in Copenhagen's lovely airport

Wow, what a day!  The good news is we're at our awesome hotel, The More Hotel.  The bad news is we don't have our luggage.  There were issues in Chicago with the flaps on the plane not functioning, so that put us back about an hour and a half.  We only had a 2 hour layover in Paris, so we switched our SAS flight to an Air France flight that left at 12:35 p.m.  (If that hadn't worked our only other option would have been a 6 p.m. flight from Paris...ugh!).  So because of the change in flights our bags stayed in Paris (which is, I'm convinced, the worst airport in the world.  Aesthetically and spatially a monster.) All of the airlines really tried to help us though.  They had tickets ready for us at the gate in Paris.  When we arrived in Copenhagen, we heard our names being called out over the loudspeaker to tell us that our bags weren't there.  Long story short, they gave us each little complimentary "Oops, you don't have a suitcase!" kit, so we'll be fine.  They will deliver our luggage to our hotel tomorrow morning.

Our ticket to Malmo (but that's not our train)

The view out our room.  We have 3 windows.

In the meantime...our hotel.  It has a kitchenette, separate sitting/dining area, and an awesome bathroom.  We think it will be quiet, too, though I think right now we could each sleep through anything.

Now we're going to head out to buy converters and some food.  Hey dor  (ask Emily) :-)

  3. Wonderful... Thanks for sending the message. I tracked the plane from Chicago to Paris, until you left N. American air space it was about 9:15 and I went to bed. I also tried to get status on the 942 fllt but kind of figured you never made it so gave up early this morning. I really didn’t think that you would get your luggage after three flights. Every thing has to go perfect for that to happen. Sure looks like a nice hotel room. You will enjoy it if you can keep your eyes open long enough to see anything.
It is 97 here today with a heat index of 105 so that should make you feel better. I went to to the dump with Terry this morning and hooked up the phone to Em’s room. Emily came over for breakfast and a muffin. Hope you find the converters and have a good sleep. Its 11:52 AM here. Have a good and talk to you soon

  6. Hello all, this is Deb and Marlys,
The good news is that we had a really nice day sightseeing in Malmo AND we had a good night sleep AND we found converters.
The bad news is that I cannot figure out the internet commection today from my computer. Believe me, I've tried a lot and right now cannot find a solution. I'm writing this from the hotel's computer in the lobby. The other bad thing is that our bags still have not arrived!!!! Air France can suck it. Sorry to hear it is so hot back in Chetek. Sounds awful. We'll post photos when we get the computer thing figured out. Love, Deb and Marlys
